Because men get wrinkles too.
In an industry where don’t ask, don’t tell is the usual policy when it comes to divulging anti-aging secrets, celebrities regularly credit good genes, healthy living and expensive moisturizers with looking eternally youthful. But lately there has been an increasingly openness about certain treatments – including Botox (66 percent Worth It rating) — and it’s not only specific to the female gender. Here are the few and mighty that have for the time, dare we say, manned up.
Some of you may dislike him for being the mean-spirited judge on American Idol and X-Factor, but it’s difficult to hate on this 53 year-old’s appearance. Simon, who attests his forever young appearance to daily exercise, colonics, and regular Botox sessions told Glamour UK, “To me, Botox is no more unusual than toothpaste-who cares” Cowell also talks about how ubiquitous Botox is among celebrities, even though no one outwardly talks about it, “I’ve had Botox. But then again, pretty much everyone I know has, except Cheryl Cole. I got a shock when she was sitting next to me on the panel and she frowned and her forehead actually wrinkled. I thought, ‘Whoa! I haven’t seen that in a while. A real frown. That’s different.” Good to know that we can always count on Simon to be 100 percent honest.
Former Baywatch star, David Hasselhoff, candidly talks about Botox usage in Hollywood, saying “I have had botox. Everyone has. I like how Clint Eastwood looks. He waited until he was 75.” However when accused of getting a face-lift, a representative for Hasselhoff got more than a bit-snippy, answering “Maybe a little Botox here and there…but absolutely no face-lift, he hasn’t had one! No work at all.”
Not everyone has been as gung-ho when it comes to their Botox experience. Donnie Osmond who has admitted to getting Botox in the past, claims that once was more than enough. “I’ve had Botox once. Never again. I didn’t like the needles going in, and didn’t like not having my face move. I’d consider cosmetic surgery, but not yet.”
British music-sensation Will Young admits to using Botox for entirely different reasons than one would expect. “I tried it (Botox) once actually under my arms, because I sweat a lot… So I went to this chap (man) and he gave me some Botox and I sweated through it and he said, ‘You’re the only man in Europe to sweat through Botox.’”
Pop-music artist and reality TV star, Peter Andre, admits having Botox annually when talking plastic-surgery. “I’ve also had Botox annually, just to stop those lines getting too deep.” However, Andre claims Botox is no-miracle worker, explaining “I have a ‘baby Botox’ treatment at Fabulous Face & Body. It’s like tiny amounts. But I have got loads of wrinkles right now.”
